This film was created for BBC StoryWorks and Sanofi as part of the Caring with Courage series, which shines a light on the nurses, healthcare workers, and community leaders transforming healthcare access around the world. Conceived, directed, and edited by our team, the documentary was developed to capture the dedication and resilience of frontline healthcare workers operating in some of the most remote regions of Zimbabwe.

Set within isolated rural communities where non-communicable diseases often remain undiagnosed and untreated, the film follows Community Outreach Agents Danile and Mlamuleli as they travel from household to household, bringing essential healthcare services directly to patients who would otherwise have limited or no access to medical support. Through immersive observational storytelling, audiences witness the daily realities of delivering care across long distances, difficult terrain, and under-resourced environments.

The documentary highlights the growing challenge posed by non-communicable diseases in remote communities and demonstrates how local healthcare initiatives are helping bridge critical gaps in access, awareness, and early diagnosis. Through personal interactions with patients and healthcare workers alike, viewers gain insight into the importance of trust, education, and community-led care in improving long-term health outcomes.
